CAGE Tags refer to the capping regions pulled by the cap trapping method. CAGE tags, vary in length from 1 to 50 nucleotides, and are indicative of the Transcription Start Sites. CAGE tag prediction can help us in asserting the presence or absence of CAGE tag in a given sequence, which in turn would enable us to approximately predict the gene expression by counting the predicted CAGE Tags on a large collection of cDNA fragments obtained from cell lines.
